About Blyssful Creations

‘Blyssful Creations’ derives from my daughter’s name, Alyssa. My father nicknamed her ‘Blyss’ (short for Baby Lyss) for the joy she has brought to the family. When naming the business I felt it was the perfect word, as bringing a child into the world is a ‘Blyssful’ occasion.

The seeds for Blyssful Creations were planted several years ago in 1998 following the birth of my first daughter Amber-Rose. These seeds blossomed after the arrival of my second baby, Alyssa-Hope, at the end of 2003, and so in 2004 I formed Blyssful Creations.

As a mother I have learned to appreciate the role of mothers throughout the world and have also learned to respect the fact that they were women first. To become a mother and yet maintain oneself as a woman in today’s society is a difficult task. There are constant expectations and demands on mothers whether from others or from ourselves.

With this in mind, Blyssful Creations has been developed to encourage new mothers to take time out to pamper themselves and reflect, even if only for a moment. It is easy to become slaves to our children and forget ourselves. My hope is to gently remind fellow mums they are still women who deserve to be pampered and treated with respect.

Included on this website is a Connections page to direct mothers or their friends and family to helpful links and organisations for extra support, as it is easy to become isolated and alone in the first months of motherhood.

Most of all, my aim is to encourage and nurture the bond that exists between mother and child as I believe it is the most sacred bond in the universe.
